Discover the best food and drink experiences

The Birmingham Whisky Club is celebrating five years of bringing whisky to Birmingham with five special anniversary events.

The Birmingham Whisky Club will kick off the festivities with a tasting at The Electric Cinema on November 3rd.

Famously the UK’s oldest working cinema, The Electric will host a ‘drink - along’ screening of Ken Loach film The Angel’s Share.

The event will be in collaboration with independent bottlers Douglas Laing.

There will also a Chivas tasting at gentlemen's tailor Clements & Church.

Guests will sip drams and hear about the history of whisky blending and bespoke tailoring.

Birmingham Whisky Club is then joining forces with Highland Park and Glenfiddich to host tastings.

The celebrations will round off with a _Peat Freaks _tasting of peated whiskies at The Wellington.

Amy Seton, founder of The Birmingham Whisky Club had this to say:

“I started the club five years ago to share my love of the ‘Water Of Life’ with the people of Birmingham.

"Since our very first tasting in December 2011, we have seen over 4,500 people at our events, tasted whisk(e)y from over 10 different countries and drank our way through around 5,000 bottles!

"We have worked with dozens of fantastic brands and great independent venues and shared
_ some knowledge on the way.”_

October also sees the release of tickets for the club’s biggest event Whisky Birmingham.

The festival will be back for the fourth time on Saturday March 4th 2017 at Digbeth's canalside venue The Bond.

Visitors can try hundreds of different whiskies and tuck into local street food.

There will also be special masterclasses and live entertainment on the day.

Tickets for Whisky Birmingham 2017 are now available from the website.
