1. The Jekyll and Hyde
28 Steelhouse Ln, Birmingham B4 6BJ
Unarguably the most established gin bar Birmingham has to offer. The Jekyll has stocked a formidable range of gins since before it was cool.
The quirky Victorian venue is known for cheekily serving drinks in teapots and bathtubs, but its commitment to gin is serious.
At last count they stocked over 90 gins, from local tipples to more exotic blends.
Something to try: Cotswolds Gin - from an exciting new distillery not too far away from Brum.
2. No 40 St Pauls
40 Cox St, Birmingham B3 1RD
The Young Pretender. This one burst onto the scene late in 2015, to great excitement.
Despite being small (only seating 24), this Birmingham gin bar stocks 96 gins, listed on the menu by country of origin.
They update and shake up the menu on a weekly basis to bring different bottles to the fore.
Something to try: Anty Gin - flavoured with English ants for that citrusy tang.
3. Bar Opus
One Snowhill, Queensway, Birmingham B4
Great for cocktails, Bar Opus serves it gin-tonics Spanish-style: in a nice big _copa _glass.
The bar itself is a smart hangout on the ground floor of a towering office complex in the Colmore Business District.
Unsurprisingly, it's a popular spot for the suited-and-booted to grab their gin fix after a hard day's work.
Something to try: Opihr - a gin made with oriental spices and served with tonic and chilli flakes
4. The Bureau
110 Colmore Row, Birmingham B3 3AG
Describing itself as a 'vintage cocktail and deli bar', The Bureau certainly has a feel of retro glamour to it.
The marble, impressive bar and high ceilings make an ideal setting to enjoy the historic spirit in its modern guises.
There's also a roof terrace to escape to in good weather. The menu lists 11 gins, with a variety of other drinks available.
Something to try: Portobello Road - a London craft gin made with 9 fragrant botanicals
5. The Old Joint Stock
4 Temple Row W, Birmingham B2 5NY
- Old Joint Stock (@OldJointStock) March 26, 2016
A heritage Birmingham pub that offers a range of 12 gins, ranging from commercial to craft varieties.
Housed in an old theatre building, this is another spot with a historic vibe that perfectly complements gin.
The venue is also teaming up with the new Gin Tasting Group to put on a series of gin tasting events.
Something to try: Gin Mare - Mediterranean taste with rosemary and basil infusions
