Birmingham's very own Willy Wonka is giving you the chance to win a golden ticket to win a 10 course meal for two at Michelin-starred Purnell's.
Purnell's is one of Birmingham's most prestigious restaurants, and this summer it is celebrating its 10th year anniversary by giving 15 lucky winners the chance to have a once in a lifetime dining experience.
In true Purnell's style, owner and Michelin-starred chef himself Glynn Purnell will be giving 15 lucky winners and their guests the chance to win a golden ticket.
The elusive golden ticket will serve as an invitation to an unforgettable dining experience that will include a champagne reception with a specially prepared 10 course meal, celebrating some of Glynn's favourite dishes.
The Yummie Brummie loves to combine his Birmingham heritage with a love of Eastern inspired ingredients to produce unique and ground-breaking cuisine, always striving for originality in his menu.
Birmingham's answer to Willy Wonka
Speaking about Purnell's 10th anniversary celebrations, Glynn wanted to create a fun competition that anyone can enter:
“I wanted to do something fun, and growing up in the city that is home to the most well-known chocolate factory in the country, I thought I could be Birmingham’s answer to Willy Wonka!
"I wanted to ensure that whether you’re Mrs Jones living in a one-bedroomed maisonette, or whether you’re a Lord or Lady, you’ll have just as much chance of coming to eat here on the anniversary night.”
Glynn's flair and creativity has seen him go from strength to strength over the years. From launcing Jessica's in 2003 and seeing it recieve a Michelin star in 2005, to opening two establishments in Birmingham: Purnell's restaurant and Purnell's Bistro and Ginger bar.
Out of the kitchen, he has become a household name on some of the country's top cookery programmes, featuring on the The Great British Food Revival and The Secret Chef as well as landing the role of host presenter on a new series of My Kitchen Rules.
I want a golden ticket and I want it now!
It couldn't be easier to enter the competition. Don't worry you won't have to eat a 1000 chocolate bars.
All you have to do is send a stamped addressed envelope to: Mr Purnell's Golden Ticket Prize Draw, Purnell's Restaurant, 55 Cornwall St, Birmingham, B3 2DH.
The closing date for entries is 5pm on Thursday 15th June and the 15 winners will receive their golden tickets the week commencing Monday 19th June.
