The Colmore Food Festival is back and this time it's bigger and better than ever.
That’s right, the annual Food Festival returns to Victoria Square on the 30th June and 1st July, showcasing the best restaurants, bars, bakeries and cafes in the Colmore Business District.
Birmingham’s very own Michelin-starred chef, Glynn Purnell, will be back in action on the kitchen demo stage on the Friday. He has been sharing his thoughts on the Festival and what can be expected from Purnell's:
“What’s great about Colmore Food Festival is that it’s in the city centre. This is celebrating all things Birmingham, right in the centre of Birmingham which is the centre of the universe as far as I’m concerned.
"I always try to bring an essence of Purnell’s to events like Colmore Food Festival so you get chance to have a few mouthfuls of what we do at the main restaurant, but we’ve also got the casual dining and cocktails on offer at the Bistro.”
In addition to Purnell’s, the Colmore Food Festival will be welcoming back old favourites such as Primitivo along with some exciting new venues.
To accompany your food there will also be some fantastic live music with the theme for this year’s music being local talent.
The Colmore Food Festival will be showcasing some of the best musicians and bands across the West Midlands such as seven piece soul band Lucas D and Festival favourites, The Glamophones and Element of Song will be back performing for us.
Some of the Colmore Business District's venues will also host exciting food and drinks events in the run up to the big weekend.
There'll be everything from cocktail competitions to dining tours to tantalise your taste buds.
The event is free and taster dishes are £4 each.
